David appoints, contracts, schedules, and manages musicians and other freelance employees for the National Theatre. He supports composers with new commissions. Secures performance rights, processes invoices, copyright fees, and pays freelance staff. He also maintains the music database, the archive of scores, and supervises theatre related recordings.

David has worked on 180+ National Theatre productions. These productions include the award winning musicals 'My Fair Lady,''South Pacific' 'Anything Goes' and 'Jerry Springer The Opera' and plays such as 'Jumpers','Play Without Words', 'The History Boys', 'Coram Boy', 'War Horse' and 'Every Good Boy Deserves Favour'.

David has also contracted, promoted, and managed 200+ front of house concerts whilst at the National.

Freelance employment includes contracting musicians for recording sessions on behalf of First Night Records & The Ambassadors Theatre Group, and contracting live musicians for productions at The Old Vic Theatre, and on film.
